Recently in Kansas City, Missouri, police arrested the young man they believe to be responsible for a string of shootings at vehicles along the highways of that area.
His name is Mohammed Pedro Whitaker.
This incident recalls another string of sniper attacks on drivers in the Washington, D.C. metro area by jihadis John Allen Muhammed and Lee Boyd Malvo where at least 10 people were killed. Today, many are unaware this was a jihad, and some still debate it. Yet the ties between Muhammed and jihadis is there, and officials found jihadi drawings and statements in Lee Boyd Malvo’s cell making clear he is a jihadi. In one drawing depicting Osama bin Laden next to a police officer with rifle sights over him the caption read, “We did not start this flame, we merely picked up the torch,” Ye shall all die! Every last one.”
In law enforcement, that is called an investigative clue.
So here we have Mohammed Pedro Whitaker using a handgun to attempt the same thing in which several people were wounded but none killed.
Will the fact Whitaker is a Muslim even come up? Will jihad be mentioned as a “motive?” Or will American’s be told by their government Whitaker is just another in a long line of Muslim males who is simply a “violent extremist” no different than a member of the KKK or Arian Nation or a combat veteran – all of whom DHS considers threats to an equal degree?
