In Memoriam: Richard Higgins

This week, America lost one its greatest leaders in the war in which we are engaged – Rich Higgins.

Several fine articles have been written detailing Rich’s background and noteworthy achievements, of which there are many.  You can read one such article here.

Rich’s service in the Army, the Department of Defense (DoD), and as the Director of Strategic Planning for the National Security Council (NSC) is tremendous. However, it was his strategic understanding of the enemy, his innate understanding of good and evil, and his inner desire to see the Republic survive that made Rich an invaluable asset in the war for the free world.

I knew Rich as a friend, roommate, colleague, mentor, and sounding board. He was as humorous as he was dedicated to the mission and his oath. He saw the world in raw realistic terms, and spoke the same way.

If Rich Higgins was running the American war effort, many generals would have been fired, the enemy would have been vanquished, and the war would have been over years ago.

While working inside the FBI, teaching and training others about the international and domestic jihadi threat, a friend and colleague of mine told me I need to know Rich Higgins.  This was at a time when I, and my colleague from the Joint Staff, Steve Coughlin, were putting together a small group of influential people in the Washington, D.C. area to brief about this threat, the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq, and how America was completely off its warfighting game.

To that end, I called Rich on a Friday evening, introduced myself as an FBI agent who was given his number by a mutual colleague, and asked if he would be willing to attend a brief we were having early Saturday morning at a warehouse in Alexandria, Virginia.

There was a long pause before Rich asked, “Am I under investigation?”

After assuring him he was not, Rich showed up and the relationship began.  

After that day, and several more shortly after, Rich was able to take the information Steve and I shared, and put it into a strategic picture which, as he put it, brought everything happening in the “Global War on Terror” into perfect focus.

A couple years later, Rich recruited me out of the FBI into the Department of Defense to continue my work, synergized by Steve Coughlin’s deep understanding of the enemy, and let us operate without the shackles of our former agencies.

Rich Higgins understood the profound practical and spiritual battle that lay ahead for America.  He knew that without returning to “the Law of Nature and of Nature’s God” America could not and would not be restored.

I believe this was so because Rich understood evil, and understood it is at the heart of normative Islamic and communist doctrine.  These ideologies seek to destroy the very foundations upon which America’s law and government were founded.  He took this clear understanding of the world into his decision-making, operations, and his daily life.

Rich’s 2017 memo on political warfare was the culmination of over a dozen years of strategic thinking and planning that lays out in plain sight how America’s enemies do what they do, and what the consequences will be if American leaders ignore the problem.

Rich’s predictions came true.  Donald Trump is out of the White House.  The communists – Black Lives Matter, Antifa, DSA, CPUSA, et al – openly call for the overthrow of our system.  U.S. Islamic leaders are openly calling for the release of an Al Qaeda Weapons of Mass Destruction operative, being held in jail in Texas, which is not surprising because they all subscribe to the same doctrine.

Rich Higgins’ contribution to the war effort, in my opinion, cannot be overstated.  Neither can his love of family, friends, God, and country.

Raise a glass and remember Rich Higgins today. Ask yourself what you are prepared to do to restore the American Republic to its founding principles.

Rich Higgins is gone, but those of us who knew and love him will carry on the war effort.

  1. Sadly, we’ve lost a rare breed of warrior in our fight to save this country. If there were medals of honor to be awarded in this war on freedom, Rich would be at the head of the line. Thank you Rich, God speed.

          1. I listen to Bannon and just this morning saw that Richard had been called home. I mourn with you seeing that God has removed a great spiritual warrior who lived soli Deo gloria. I think of the letter to the church of Philadelphia in Revelation.

            This is my first visit to UTT. I recognized Richard’s picture and in search of more info was lead here.

            I need to share an aspect of God’s regarding national consequences that we rarely hear. I did a study of God’s view of child sacrifice. The consequence for a nation that legalizes child sacrifice is invasion and conquest. It is NOT forgiven of a nation. A reprieve is possible with overturning, however, in 2 Kings 24 God is explicit in this.

            “Surely at the command (mouth) of the LORD it came upon Judah, to remove them from His sight because of the sins of Manasseh, according to all that he had done, and also for the innocent blood which he shed, for he filled Jerusalem with innocent blood; AND THE LORD WOULD NOT FORGIVE.” (All caps mine) 2 Kings 24:3 & 4 NASB 1995

            The individual is forgiven with repentance. Manasseh had burned his infant son alive. He was Forgiven! He tore down the altars and stopped the practice. His grandson, Josiah, would lead the nation of Judah in a great revival. Later, Judah would again murder their children and the Babylonian conquest of Judah would be completed.

        2. As an additional comment, in the first 5 centuries of the Christian Church, a number of prayers were repeated to deepen devotion and a focus on God. Jesus taught that it is through his Church we should worship, and we pass the faith on throughout the centuries through his Church.

          2. Gisella – War Will Reach Rome

            Our Lady to Gisella Cardia on February 26th, 2022:

            Children, brothers and sisters, open your hearts to grace, your ears to hear: do what is essential, without thinking of the false light of this world.         Coach Kennedy prayed silently after every football game. He was fired for exercising his Christian faith.   5. I had no idea Rich was gone. I’m shocked! Before I got the boot from Twit last year I talked to him all the time regarding current events. He was young and I don’t know what took him. My deepest condolences to his family and friends. He will be missed. 😪🙏🏻

    Since Bergoglio is reported to be very ill and dying, Bergoglio may not be the prophesied false prophet in ALMIGHTY GOD’s Holy Bible’s book of Revelation in chapter 13.

    If Bergoglio is the false prophet in GOD’s Holy Bible’s book of Revelation in chapter 13, Bergoglio would have to remain alive on earth until the Second Coming of CHRIST, since GOD’s Holy Bible says that when LORD JESUS CHRIST returns in the Second Coming of CHRIST, LORD JESUS CHRIST will order destruction of the antichrist and the false prophet into HELL FOREVER FIRE.

    Whoever the prophesied false prophet and the political Antichrist are who will fulfill ALMIGHTY GOD’s Holy Bible’s book of Revelation in chapter 13 will be revealed to and seen by the people on the earth. The events on earth certainly look like ALMIGHTY GOD’s Holy Bible’s book of Revelation is rapidly being fulfilled before our eyes in our generation.

  8. RIP. Everything this guy said was true, and speaking the truth seems to be a dangerous and costly activity these days. We lost a good guy and is too bad he never had the influence that he deserved. Given his analysis, I would like to hear his ideas about how to combat the Marxist threat which has become seemingly all powerful. That, I believe, is what is needed now most of all. Effective strategies against them now that we have thoroughly identified what is happening. His paper, as all similar analysis, seems short on plans and actions that can be undertaken. However, he does seem to indicate non-reactivity and broader inclusion, both of which I agree with. If he further ideas along these lines, I’d be interested, as he was perceptive and thoughtful. We will remember him.
