As the Russian military continues to wage war in Ukraine, the Ukrainian people are caught in the crossfire.
Putting aside the U.S. media’s 24/7 propaganda and the emphasis on human carnage despite official numbers that fewer than 600 Ukrainians have been killed, the inhumanity of the situation is still heart-wrenching and many decent people want to do what they can to help.
Many people’s knee-jerk reaction seems to be to look to the U.S. federal government to “do something” to stop this or any tragic situation.
Yet, taking care of our fellow man is the duty of the individual, not the state.
10th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution
The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.
The Constitution explicitly states the authorities provided to the federal government are enumerated and cannot be exceeded. All other authorities are reserved to the States and the people.
Period.
We as individuals can decide to use our financial resources, time, and effort to help others as we so choose. We can take time to find non-profit organizations that conduct international relief, help refugees, and do other such things.
If Mr. Biden wants to enter into a war with Russia, he must first seek a declaration of war from Congress. Otherwise, arming the Ukraine, assisting with a No-Fly Zone, or other such action, is an act of war and Russia will see it that way.
At a time when there is significant evidence of gross corruption and tyranny at the highest levels of the U.S. government, allowing it to send money and resources to the Ukraine is nothing short of irresponsible and unconstitutional.

America waits with bated breath while Washington struggles to bring the U.S. economy back from the brink of disaster. But many of those same politicians caused the crisis, and if left to their own devices, will do so again.
